Seeing proposed changes (from the CPS) in requirements module

We're using the Change Proposal System in DOORS to submit proposed changes to the requirements specifications, I've been asked to show through a view in the requirements module the proposed changes as per the CPs specifically I want red line marks ups that would show what the text would look like, does anyone already have layout or attribute DXL code that does this. The idea being in one column you have the Object Text/Object Heading (main column) and right next to it you have a column with strikethrough/redlines etc.. to show what the text would look like if the CPs were applied. My main priority is showing what the text/heading would look like, but I am sure if I had the code it would not be too difficult to expand it to look at the other proposed attributes.

Doing an adequate job is an extremely difficut and time consuming job. A tolerable job may perhaps done as follows:

  • Use the Wizard to create a column that gets the "Proposed Object Text" attribute of the 1st link found in the "Change Proposal Links" link module.
  • Now edit that code. Ignore links when the othero."CP Status" is "Rejected" or "Applied".
  • Ignore links when othero."Using Object Text" is not true.
  • Get the text, use the "diff" function, and display the results.
  • Convert this to Attr-DXL to drastically improve performance when browsing the module.

Sounds easy, but it isn't.

Good Luck.
